Wow, well since my last entry, alot has happened. I'll go in order and give a few pics as I go.

My family went to Strasbourg, France in late November for the European Aimer Retreat. We spent about a week there visiting w/ them and getting to know the city.

This is our group (minus a few and me) at a French McDonalds before church. Their church service doesn't start until 2 pm!!

Then, on December 22nd, I put all of my money together that I had been saving for 5 years, and..... I BOUGHT A TRUCK!

image

It's a 2001 Ford F-150 sport with flareside. It's also a manual so that's more fun.

image

Yep.

Then Christmas rolled around. My g'parents came too. I got stuff for my truck, movies, clothes, and stuff like that. It was a good Christmas!

The 2nd week of Christmas break, I went w/ my dad and the Sunset college group back to New Orleans. We gutted about 7 houses and you would not believe how bad it still is ... almost a year and a half later.

This is before we started

image

This is after we gutted it.

image

This is the inside before we started

image

After we finished. Cool huh?

image

MMMmmmm tasty. Oh, and those are maggots on the top of the door.

image

Me and my dad snuck into an abandoned sherriff's office and found some pretty cool stuff. No jail cells though :(

image

Houses that haven't been touched either have or will soon have one of these on them. I'ts just saying that the owner has 10 days after this is posted to gut their house or it will be demolished. Kinda harsh, but totally necessary, cause alot of the owners left New Orleans.

image

Twice while we gutted houses, this guy started dumping all of the stuff before we were even done. It was so cool to get to watch.

image

AIMERS OF 05'!!! Remember this house???? It used to be a bright blue and we got to meet the man who lived there. He totally redid everything and is now living back in there! We helped w/ that!!! Isn't that cool???

image

Then we went downtown on the last day. This cafe du Monde ... and it was good :)

Okay well , you are updated for the most part.

I'm going back to Mexico City w/ the new aimers in less than 3 weeks so I'll prolly update after that.

I hope you enjoyed!

Well alot has happened in the past month, so let's recap:

I got to go w/ the new AIMers on the annual Paducah trip this year.  Here's a shortened version of what we did.

flag presentation

This is the flag presentation in Ava, Missouri

Arch

Then the next morning we drove to St. Louis and got to go up into the Arch ... which was pretty much amazing

me keely

Me and Keely on.... GREEN GRASS?? what??

monkey

Dead monkey. We kinda killed it w/ golf clubs... and it exploded. We had styrofoam (sp?) in our hair for hours

bryson brent

Then we drove to Garden of the Gods. This is Bryson and Brent being goofy

cavemen

Brent, Brandon and Adam

boys

The city of Metropolis, Home of Superman. Bryson, Brent, Adam and Brandon

talent show

The next day we had a fish fry for the Paducites, with an open karaoke. The little boy w/ the walker is named Nick and he was pretty cool.

Then it was time to come home. :(

About a week and a half ago, we had to put my dog (Katie) down. She had been in alot of pain for a long time and we had taken her to the vet numerous times and given her tons of medicines... but it never got any better. So we went in for the last time and he told us she had a tumor and it'd be best to just put her down... so we did. It was really hard for the first few days, but we're slowly getting used to her being gone. It doesn't seem real yet... we've had her since we moved back to America.

After church today I went paintballing w/ Justin, Baron and Chris out by Ransom Canyon. We played for about 3 hours with about 10 other guys. For my first time, I got 1 really good hit... which was Chris and I shot him about 4 times in a row.

As for injuries, I have 7 nickel to quarter size welts on my body, a scraped up knee and a bruised arm and head shot injury. :)

AmysPics045.jpg

that is 1 of the 7 welts on my back. It's kinda blurry but  I can't help it.

Paintball

This one is on my leg... you can see it bruising around the edges. 3 of them have already started bruising.

So, I was trying to shoot a guy hiding behind a wall thing. ( I was behind a smaller wall and crouched down) I ducked down and heard foot steps coming from that guys direction so I turned my gun and shot. Well I hit a guy... just the wrong one. I shot the ref in the collar bone from a 3-foot range. He grabbed his throat and I immediately thought I killed him.

I felt so bad cause I gave him a huge welt and it even bled a bit... but he was cool and joked about it after he recovered.

I also shot my teammate about 5 times in a row cause my mask was blurry from the paint. Oops. :)

Over all, today was awesome and I can't wait to do it again!

Well alot has happened since my last update. Let me take you through it.

The seniors all took a trip to Carlsbad Caverns a few weeks ago.

cave

cave

After we toured the cave, a few of the brave (hehe) went back into the cave to help a guy catch birds and tag them for research. We set up a net and as the birds flew into them, we'd take them out, weigh and measure them, tag their leg and let them go. All of us got pooped on b/c hundreds of birds flew in.We tagged about 16 before we had to stop to watch the bat flight.. from inside the cave!! We got to watch the bats circle up fromt he bottom of the cave, then fly out. There so many and it was so cool. We got the best seats in the house.

me/phillip

Then the next weekend, was Coronado's homecoming. Phillip was my date, and Lacey and Jake came too!

me/carl

THEN CARL GOT TO COME!!! Carl and Omar got to come for their field presentation to the new AIMers. I got to spend the whole day w/ him and we had a blast! Gosh I've missed them.

warheads

Carl, Joey, Stephanie and Bill (not pictured yet) all put 4 warheads in their mouths at one time. This is what happened:

warheads

Teehee :) Joey's face is my favorite!

me/carl

This was the morning Carl left. We went to get breakfast at McDonalds, and then he and Omar went to Austin before going back home.

Well now you're up to date!

Next month during Thanksgiving break, me and my parents are going to Strasbourg, France for the France retreat. We'll get to see most of the Europe AIMers!! I'm so excited!

Anyways, have a good day!

Sunday, September 17, 2006

Well this weekend I went to both the JV and Varsity Coronado Football games against Frenship. All teams did a great job and fortunately, we won both! Great job guys!

me, Phillip

Meet Phillip. No, he is not a stoner, or an alcoholic.... just ill. Really ill.

There was a lady prolly in her late 40's behind us that thought she was a cheerleader. She would shout things such as "Push em' back, Push em' back, Sack the Quarterback!" The woman was crazy... and loud... and annoying.

Me, Elisha, and Dusty

Also, the Florida AIM girls (Elisha and Dusty Kay) got to come back to Lubbock for their field presentation. It was so great to get to see them.

On their last night in L-town, we went w/ the Tracy's to Sheridans and this is what I got:

Ice Cream

Sheridan's frozen yogurt w/ strawberries, bananas, brownies and looooots of sprinkles = eternal happiness. :)

At this very second, the Denver Broncos are playing Kansas City Chiefs in Denver. 9 seconds left in the 2nd quarter and Kansas just made a field goal to make the score 3-0. I'm nervous about this game cause we lost our last one (which we shoulda won!)

Well everybody... have fun and don't... get hurt. OH! I cut my hand while opening a thing of tuna! WHO DOES THAT?
